This alley fascinates me. Every time I walk through it, I ask myself why but I still don't know.

Stafford Lunatic Asylum

My interest is growing for an old derelict lunatic asylum in Stafford.

The old St Georges hospital building stands vandalised and has been completely taken back into the hands of nature.

It is soon to be demolished and turned into a housing estate, many of the asylums areas are still left undocumented.

This building has always interested me, I hope to visit it soon.

Blackpool

An afternoon in Blackpool can be very easily compared as to being inside an episode of 'The League Of Gentlemen'

Yvone De Rosa

Found this book entitled 'Crazy God' by Yvonne De Rosa. It's based on a derelict Italian lunatic asylum that she has returned to photograph, many years after her time as a practicing nurse there.

Not only has she photographed the building itself but every little detail, such as the markings of patients, left on walls, exposing their suffering and messages of help, many years after they can be answered.

The photographer has intentionally kept the name of this asylum anonymous.
